The McKenzie Institute International (MII) provides these listings for branches as a courtesy for healthcare providers and patients seeking clinicians adequately trained (certified) in MDT. Due to various country laws, not all branches will be able to provide web listings of their certified clinicians. If a country is not listed in our Clinician Locator, contact the branch in question directly for more details on whether any certified clinicians are available in that country.
There are two levels of MDT certification:
1. Credentialling Certificate or
2. Diploma Certificate
It is not advisable for the patient or the clinician to discuss or dispense treatment recommendations over the telephone or by email. The contact information is provided for the purpose of verification of certified MDT clinicians and arranging a clinic visit for an appropriate and complete evaluation of the patient with that clinician.
Beyond documenting completion of the requirements listed below, MII makes no representation as to the overall qualifications or competence of those listed. The Institute does not recommend or endorse the services of those listed. MII only verifies the clinician’s completion of the MDT training programme at the following levels:
- Attainment of the Credentialling Certificate indicates that the clinician has met predetermined requirements established by MII. This includes having completed a four-part series of post-graduate courses and passing a written and practical Credentialing Examination recognising basic competency in MDT.
- Once Credentialled in MDT, attainment of the Diploma indicates that a clinician has met additional competencies established by MII including completion of a 300-hour theoretical portion, a 360-hour clinical residency portion, and passed an advanced final examination. Attainment of the Diploma in MDT is recognition of achievement to the highest level in the MII post-graduate education programme and excellence in the practical application of MDT.
